A suicide bomber struck at the Bekaot roadblock in the northern Jordan Valley on Saturday afternoon, injuring one Israel Defense Forces soldier and four Palestinian bystanders. The soldier suffered light wounds and was evacuated by ambulance to Haemek Hospital, Afula. One of the Palestinians suffered serious wounds and was evacuated by helicopter to Haemek Hospital. The other three Palestinians suffered light wounds and were taken to a West Bank hospital. The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine claimed responsibility for the bombing in a call to The Associated Press, calling it a response to the Rafah incursion.
