Two British civilians were killed a few hundred feet from the entrance to the main American compound on Monday when a rocket-propelled grenade hit their armored car. Two other people in the car were wounded in the attack, which occurred about 1 p.m., when the streets were full and traffic was slowed. A security adviser in Baghdad familiar with the attack said insurgents had probably fired from one of the higher floors of the buildings that line Karada Maryam Street. The armored car may have been hit by a second rocket-propelled grenade, the adviser said.
