As a kick off to National Emergency Medical Services Week, officials from both Robert Packer Hospital and STAT MedEvac hosted a media event Monday at the hospital’s helipad. Sponsored by the American College of Emergency Physicians, EMS week brings together local communities and medical personnel to publicize safety and honor the dedication of those who provide day-to-day lifesaving services to their communities. The theme of this year’s celebration is “EMS: There When You Need Us” which focuses on the commitment and dedication of the nation’s 750,000 EMS providers who provide an essential community service every day.
