The suicide car bombing which killed Iraqi Governing Council chief Ezzedine Salim bore the “classic hallmarks” of Al-Qaeda linked Jordanian extremist Abu Mussab al-Zarqawi, a US general warned. The US-led coalition’s deputy director of operations, Braigadier General Mark Kimmitt, said analysts were examining a claim of responsibility from a hitherto unknown group calling itself the “Arab Resistance Movement/Rasheed Brigades” but its first suspicions pointed to Zarqawi.
