Israeli helicopters carried out a raid on Gaza City, hours after Palestinian gunmen killed a woman from a Gaza Strip settlement and her four daughters. The raid targeted the Palestine building, housing the Al-Aqsa radio station — which has links to the Islamist movement Hamas — and the Shabiba station, which is close to the youth movement of Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat’s Fatah party, witnesses said Sunday. There were no immediate reports of any casualties. The deadly ambush took place further south, at a crossing point between the southern Gaza Strip and Israel, even as members of Ariel Sharon’s Likud party were voting on the Israeli premier’s plan to withdraw from the flashpoint territory.
