Iraq Car Bomb Kills Eight U.S. Soldiers

A car bomb killed eight U.S. soldiers just south of Baghdad on Thursday in one of the bloodiest attacks on American ground troops in 13 months of war. Four other soldiers of the 1st Armored Division were wounded in the incident around 11:30 a.m. near Mahmudiya, a U.S. military spokeswoman said, citing initial reports from the scene. At least 10 soldiers died in three attacks on Thursday.
