Kuwait Beefs Up Security After Saudi, Iraq Violence

Kuwait has beefed up already high security across the country following last week’s suicide bombing in Saudi Arabia and the surge in violence in its other neighbor Iraq, security officials said on Saturday. “This is a comprehensive security plan by land, air and sea forces,” one security official who requested anonymity told Reuters. “It’s carried out in all regions.” The official said security has been tightened around the diplomatic missions of countries whose troops are part of the U.S.-led occupation force in Iraq. Kuwait, the launch pad for last year’s U.S.-led war in Iraq that ousted Iraqi President Saddam Hussein, is now the main gateway for reconstruction projects in Iraq. Full Story
