Basra car bombs kill at least 22

At least 22 Iraqis — mostly civilians — were killed in Basra as a series of explosions Wednesday struck three Iraqi police stations and a police training facility, according to a senior military source. The death toll is expected to rise. At least four car bombs exploded shortly after 7 a.m. (11 p.m. Tuesday ET), a British military source in the southern Iraqi city told CNN. Speaking on condition of anonymity, the source told CNN that crowds were throwing stones at coalition forces as they were trying to reach the sites of the blasts. Full Story
