Three Czech hostages, all newsmen kidnapped north of Baghdad five days ago, were freed by their captors and reported in good health and in the care of Czech authorities in the Iraqi capital. Petr Klima, 40, Michal Kubal, 27, and Vit Pohanka, 37, were kidnapped on Sunday as they were being driven toward the Jordanian capital Amman. They appeared hours after their release on Czech television, smiling, looking relaxed and deeply relieved. “It is a big relief because one of the hardest feelings that I had was remembering my family because I felt responsible for causing pain, anxiety and pressure because of the work I do,” Pohanka told AFP in Baghdad.
