Police investigating the alleged plot to bomb London charged five men with terrorist offences last night. The men were arrested in the south-east last week as part of an anti-terror operation and will appear in court tomorrow. Two other men who were held at the same time were released on police bail pending further inquiries. A third appeared in court on Wed-nesday accused under the Explosive Substances Act 1883. A ninth man, who was arrested a day after the others, was also released on bail. All the men were held as part of an operation involving more than 700 officers. Police also discovered half a tonne of ammonium nitrate, a fertiliser commonly used as an explosive, in a warehouse in Hanwell in west London. Full Story
