Security forces in this western city have in custody a man who says he fired on and killed Mir Wais Sadeq, the minister of civil aviation and tourism, a senior security official said Wednesday in an interview. The man is among 200 soldiers detained here Sunday in the heavy fighting that broke out after the minister’s killing. And he was one of 20 soldiers captured Sunday night at the home of the division commander where Mr. Sadeq and five others were killed that afternoon, the official said. The rest of the 200 men, all loyal to the division commander, were detained at the headquarters of the 17th Division. The commander, Zaher Naibzadah, who is accused of being behind the attack on Mr. Sadeq, escaped and is in the neighboring province of Badghis. Full Story
