The body of Abu Abbas, a Palestinian militant who died in US custody in Iraq, was buried in a refugee camp near the Syrian capital. Abu Abbas won infamy by leading the 1985 hijack of the Italian cruise ship Achille Lauro, in which a wheelchair-bound Jewish American was murdered and ditched in the sea. His body was flown to the Syrian capital earlier Tuesday in an International Committee of the Red Cross plane for burial at the Yarmuk camp, south of the city. His widow, Rim Nimr, and a number of Palestinian militant leaders were on hand at Damascus airport for the arrival of the coffin, and later received it at the entrance to the camp. Full Story
