Hours after Israeli missiles killed the spiritual leader of the militant group Hamas, Palestinians heralded him on Monday as a new unifying martyr at a mournful, vengeful and celebratory funeral that drew the largest crowds in Gaza in a decade. The Israeli government hailed the attack on the leader, Sheik Ahmed Yassin, as a blow to terrorism comparable to the American pursuit of Al Qaeda.
