A top Spanish judge has questioned five suspects over the Madrid train bombings, as police widened investigations to include the September 11 and Casablanca attacks. As the toll rose by one to 202 — equalling the carnage wrought by the Bali bombings of October 12, 2002 — Judge Juan del Olmo began questioning three Moroccans and two Indians who were taken into custody last Saturday. The judge is expected to decide later Friday whether they should be charged or released, according to Spain’s anti-terrorism law which gives authorities five days after an arrest to press charges.
