A suicide blast on a packed bus in west Jerusalem killed at least seven people, army radio said, the day before a world court hearing into the West Bank barrier Israel says is needed to stop such attacks. Israel immediately said the attack justified the building of the barrier, while Palestinian prime minister Ahmed Qorei condemned it, making clear the timing could not have been worse for his government. “It is a suicide bombing, that’s for sure,” police spokesman Gil Kleinman told AFP. A spokesman for the Magen David Adom, the Israeli equivalent of the Red Cross, said at least 62 people were wounded in the rush-hour blast on the number 14 bus near the King David Hotel.
