A Danish man held for two years in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, is to be released following talks with the US Government, Danish officials have said. Slimane Hadj Abderrahmane, will not face charges in Denmark, Foreign Minister Per Stig Moeller said. Mr Abderrahmane was transferred to Guantanamo Bay’s US base in February 2002 after his capture in the US-led conflict in Afghanistan, AP reported. The US is holding about 650 suspected al-Qaeda and Taleban fighters there. Last week a Spanish national was transferred from the US base back to face charges in his home country. Full Story
