European Union sanctions against Zimbabwe are to be renewed for a third year when they expire on Thursday. A spokesman in Brussels told the BBC a revised list of Zimbabwean officials banned from travelling to the EU was likely to include new names. Besides the travel ban, EU sanctions include a freeze on the financial assets of President Robert Mugabe and his associates and an arms embargo.
