Venezuelan and French police freed a kidnapped French tourist from a jungle camp in western Venezuela, killing one of her abductors and capturing two others, police said on Saturday. Stephanie Minana, 25, was rescued by Venezuelan police commandos, accompanied by a French police anti-kidnapping expert, who raided the kidnappers’ camp on Friday in a remote, mountainous part of Trujillo state in Venezuela’s Andean region. She was abducted on Dec. 8 by masked, armed men while visiting her brother in the city of Valera, about 240 miles west of Caracas. “A police unit went in and rescued the French citizen safe and sound,” Venezuelan police inspector Henry Zerpa said in Caracas.
