Agent who turned away "20th" 9-11 hijacker testifies at probe

A customs agent who denied a man later dubbed “the 20th September 11 hijacker” entry into the United States was told during a probe into the attacks that everyone in the US Capitol or the White House may owe him their lives. The federally mandated commission said the suspect, identified as Mohamad al-Qahtani, may have been destined for United Airlines Flight 93, the only one of four planes hijacked on September 11, 2001, which did not reach its target. Jose Melendez Perez said a smartly dressed, yet arrogant Saudi citizen gave him “the chills” as he questioned him at Orlando airport in Florida on August 4, 2001.
