Three names have been removed from the list of those killed in the World Trade Center attack, bringing the death toll to 2,749, which could stand as the final count, according to a newspaper report. The official list of those missing now matches the number of death certificates the city has issued for victims for the first time, The New York Times reported Friday. “Based on the information we have now, we believe this is the final number,” Ellen Borakove, a spokeswoman for the city’s medical examiner, told the Times.
