The thaw in Indo-Pak ties seems to have had a sobering effect on the cyber war between Indian and Pakistani hackers. A near peace now prevails in cyberspace where, till a few months back, Pakistanis and Indians were hacking websites with devastating regularity. The Pakistani offensive peaked in August last year when as many as 781 Indian sites were hacked in a single month. The number fell to 19 in December and 10 so far this month, according to Delhi-based flawfinder.com, which keeps track of hacked Indian sites. Indians, by contrast, defaced only 21 Pakistani sites in August 2003, according to Pakistan Computer Emergency Response Team (PakCert), a leading Karachi-based network security provider. Full Story
