Iran and Egypt are set to resume full diplomatic ties after 25 years, Iran’s vice-president, Mohammed Ali Abtahi, said yesterday. His remarks came hours after Tehran city council removed one of the last obstacles to normality by changing the name of a street which had honoured the man who assassinated the Egyptian president, Anwar Sadat, in 1981. In Cairo, the foreign minister, Ahmed Maher, said no decision had been made but hinted that it could come soon. “I have seen the statement of Iran.
