Georgian lawyer Mikhail Saakashvili is set to become president on Sunday. The election was sparked by November’s “rose revolution”, when Eduard Shevardnadze was forced from office after flawed parliamentary elections. Several people are running in Sunday’s presidential poll, but Mr Saakashvili, 36, is widely expected to win. “These elections are absolutely predictable,” analyst Archil Gegeshidze told Reuters. “No-one has doubts about Mikhail Saakashvili’s victory.” Full Story
