There has been a substantial decline in violence in Indian-administered Kashmir since Pakistan and India began a ceasefire, the Indian authorities say. A spokesman for the government in Indian-controlled Kashmir said the de facto border, the Line of Control, had been quiet since the introduction of the ceasefire last month. And he said the number of incidents involving militant Kashmir separatists had declined by nearly one-third.
