A large explosion was heard in Baghdad on Monday afternoon. Windows rattled in some buildings on the east bank of the Tigris River. The blast did not occur in the Green Zone, a barricaded area on the west bank that houses the headquarters of the U.S.-led coalition governing Iraq, a coalition spokesman said. Insurgents have previously fired mortar shells into the Green Zone. “We have units on the ground trying to figure it out,” the coalition spokesman said.
