An audio tape purported to be of Osama bin Laden aired on Saturday appears to be an old one that was previously broadcast, a CIA official said. “It appears to be the same audio that was released (previously),” the official told Reuters. In the audio tape, aired on Arabic TV station Al Arabiya, the accused mastermind of the Sept. 11 strikes called the U.S. war on Iraq part of a new crusade against Islam. Al Arabiya and another Arab satellite station, Al Jazeera, have in the past broadcast similar messages said to be from bin Laden. The CIA has said some of those appeared to be authentic. Earlier on Saturday, a CIA official said the agency determined an audio tape broadcast on Al Jazeera on Friday of al Qaeda’s second in command, Ayman al-Zawahri, was “most likely” authentic.
