Two Kenyan police officers were attacked, disarmed and abducted by Ethiopian militiamen on Monday afternoon. Police Constables Yusuf Mohammed and Geoffrey Mwirigi were manning the Malka Punda duty station in Mandera, on the Kenya/Ethiopia border, when the militiamen struck. Their colleague, identified as Antony Aligela, braved a hail of bullets and escaped to inform his seniors of the incident. He was, however, shot in the leg during the 4 pm incident. According to a police source, the three officers were manning the post when they were attacked. The militiamen disarmed them of their G3 rifles, 160 rounds of 7.62 mm caliber ammunition and frog-marched them into Ethiopia. Full Story
