At least one person was killed yesterday and 20 injured when grenades were thrown into three department stores packed with shoppers in the Colombian port of Barranquilla. Police blamed Marxists, either the ELN or Farc movements, fighting the government in a four-decade guerrilla war. The ELN yesterday said it planned to free by Christmas four Israelis and a Briton held hostage in the northern mountains.
