Two Turkish Workers and Afghan Kidnapped

Two Turkish engineers and an Afghan were kidnapped outside Kabul, an official said Sunday, bringing to five the number of workers who have been taken hostage in Afghanistan in the last three days. Men burst into the office of a Turkish construction company southeast of the capital Friday, beat and tied up an Afghan staff member, then abducted two Turkish workers and another Afghan, said Nick Downie of the Afghanistan NGO Security Office. The office protects aid workers in the country. The three hostages appeared to be taken to another province, and no contact has been made with them or their abductors, Downie said. The Afghan Ministry of the Interior and the Turkish Embassy were investigating the attack. Full Story
