Turkish militants carried out this weekend’s deadly synagogue bombings, inspired by — and perhaps working for — the al-Qaida terror network, Turkey’s foreign minister told The Associated Press on Tuesday. If Turkish authorities identify the Turkish militants as an al-Qaid cell, it would confirm growing suspicions over the past two years that Osama bin Laden’s terror network has been working to get a foothold in this Muslim-majority, but resolutely secular nation. Meanwhile, one of the more than 300 wounded died at a hospital overnight, increasing the death toll to 23, a health official said Tuesday.
