A federal judge on Friday said accused Sept. 11 conspirator Zacarias Moussaoui could no longer represent himself because he had violated her orders by filing repetitive motions with contemptuous language. U.S. District Judge Leonie Brinkema, who had cautioned Moussaoui on several occasions that he risked losing the right to represent himself, issued an order on Friday revoking the right she had originally granted last year. She said the court-appointed lawyers who had been named to assist Moussaoui would instead represent him. Brinkema warned Moussaoui in a court order on Nov. 6, that he faced losing the right to defend himself if he continued to file “further frivolous, scandalous, disrespectful or repetitive pleadings.” Full Story
