Satellite television station Al Arabiya broadcast on Tuesday a video tape it said showed Taliban fighters engaged in a clash with U.S. troops in Afghanistan. Blurry television footage shot during daytime showed what appeared to be Taliban fighters firing rifles and an army vehicle with a U.S. flag moving up a mountain trail, with a helicopter hovering above. Shots were heard in the background. The channel also aired an audio message by a man it identified as a Taliban spokesman, saying its forces had reorganized and calling on Muslims to pray for their victory over U.S. forces in the Muslim holy month of Ramadan. Al Arabiya — monitored by Reuters in Dubai — did not say when it received the tapes or when they might have been recorded. Ramadan began on October 27 for many Muslim countries. Full Story
