The resignation on Sunday of Marta Lucía Ramírez, the tough, blunt Colombian defense minister, came as pressure for her removal mounted from high-ranking generals who bristled at her management style and her efforts to root out corruption, government officials and political analysts said Monday. She was quickly replaced by Jorge Alberto Uribe Echavarría, 63, an insurance company executive who is close to President Álvaro Uribe.
