Western embassies in Saudi Arabia urged their nationals on Sunday to remain vigilant and restrict their movement to and inside the kingdom, after a bloody suicide attack on a housing compound in Riyadh killed scores of people. Britain and Canada advised citizens to defer non-essential travel to the kingdom, while U.S. and French embassies urged their communities against non-essential movement outside housing areas after suspected al Qaeda militants drove an car rigged with bombs into a residential complex, killing up to 30 people. The attack — which came about six months after suicide bombings on Western compounds in Riyadh killed 35 people — followed warnings by Washington and London that guerrillas could be on the verge of carrying out attacks in the oil-rich state.
