Turkish embassy in the Netherlands attacked, suspect being held
Dutch police arrested a 16-year-old after he allegedly threw a bag of flammable material in the Turkish Embassy, touching off a small fire in the building, authorities here said. Initial reports said there had been an explosion, but judicial authorities later corrected this. Chief prosecutor Han Moraal told a news conference that the throwing of the bag was not a terrorist act or motivated by political reasons. He said the youth might have acted for personal reasons and had earlier been involved in an altercation at the embassy. His nationality and name were not disclosed. Five people, including the suspect, were slightly injured and witnesses said the embassy compound, in the centre of The Hague near the parliament buildings, suffered considerable damage. Full Story
