Straw criticises action as ‘unnecessary and disproportionate’. Spain today closed its border with Gibraltar over the docking of virus-hit luxury cruise liner MS Aurora. As the ship docked today, it had been agreed that passengers would be allowed ashore if they had not been suffering from the virus for several days. But Spain’s announcement of the border closure was meant with cynicism on Gibraltar, where ministers said Spain looked for “any excuse” to cause disruption.
