Punjabi pop star Daler Mehndi has been questioned by police in northern India for a second day over his alleged role in a human trafficking scheme. Mr Mehndi was interviewed for nearly four hours at a police station in the town of Patiala. The star denies allegations that hopeful migrants paid him to smuggle them abroad as performers in his ensemble. Talking to the BBC on his way back to Delhi, Mr Mehndi said he had answered all the questions asked of him. “I gave them whatever information I had. I told them it was now up to them to dig whatever they could,” he said. But police say they are still not happy with the singer’s answers. Full Story
