An alleged leader of a Muslim separatist organization fighting for an independent state in west China left a detailed record of grim official torture sessions before he was executed, a report said. Wujimaimaiti Abasi, also known as Shirali, was tried last November and sentenced to death in March for “manufacturing and stockpiling illegal weapons and explosives,” and “organizing and leading a terrorist organization.” Court officials in Hotan, Xinjiang Autonomous Region in western China, Thursday told AFP the execution had been carried out. The US-based Radio Free Asia Friday said Abasi left behind a testimony he recorded for their Uighur service which he requested be kept “in a safe place.” In it, he described eight months of torture in the Old Market Prison in Guma County, Xinjiang.
