In Guatemala City story headlined “Guatemala ex-fighters abduct four journalists”, please read in the third paragraph … the Prensa Libre’s director … instead of … La Prensa’s director (corrects name of newspaper) Four Guatemalan journalists were abducted by former paramilitary members on Sunday during a demonstration in the country’s western highlands and were being held, tied up on a highway. The director of the Prensa Libre newspaper, which employed all four of the journalists, said two of them were seized during protests and the other two were then taken when they flew in by helicopter with government human rights officials in a bid to win the others’ release. “We’re extremely worried about their safety,” the Prensa Libre’s director, Gonzalo Marroquin, told Reuters. One of the captured journalists, photographer Mario Linares, worked occasionally for Reuters. It was not clear whether the officials from the government’s human rights office were also being held.
