Prosecutors in Sweden have been given another two weeks to gather evidence against the main suspect in the murder of Foreign Minister Anna Lindh. Mijailo Mijailovic will now remain in custody until 23 October. A court in Stockholm granted a request for an extension on Friday morning after prosecutors said they needed more time to prepare charges. On Tuesday police said DNA tests had “strengthened” the case against the suspect. The 24-year-old was arrested nearly two weeks ago on suspicion of fatally stabbing Ms Lindh on 10 September as she was shopping in a Stockholm department store. Mr Mijailovic appeared in the court covered in a yellow blanket. The court took its decision after just an hour of argument. The suspect continues to deny attacking Ms Lindh. Full Story
