A suspected Muslim rebel who escaped with Indonesian terror suspect Fathur Al-Ghozi from a maximum security jail nearly three months ago was captured Wednesday, the military said. Acting on a tip, soldiers arrested Omar Opik Lasal and a man traveling with him at a checkpoint in Zamboanga del Sur, in the southern Philippines, said army Col. Roland Rodriguez, commander of a task force searching for Al-Ghozi, who remains at large. “We will get Al-Ghozi sooner or later,” he said. Troops recovered a pistol from Lasal, who did not resist arrest. At least 11 others traveling with them were questioned and released, the officer said. Al-Ghozi is a confessed member of Jemaah Islamiyah, a Southeast Asian Muslim extremist group that has been linked to al-Qaida, Osama bin Laden’s terror network. Full Story
