Preliminary investigations by peacekeepers in Afghanistan strongly indicate that two Canadian soldiers killed in a land mine explosion last week were the victims of a deliberate attack. Earlier on Wednesday, a man was arrested in the Afghan capital, Kabul, on suspicion of terrorist activities. A spokesman for the International Security Assistance Force (Isaf) said the man was a senior commander of a renegade group which has been linked to the Taleban and al-Qaeda. The two Canadian peacekeepers, Corporal Beerenfenger and Sergeant Short, died when their jeep was blown up in a dry river bed near Kabul last Thursday. Full Story
