A man and a woman were killed after a grenade apparently exploded accidentally in a hotel room in eastern Ethiopia, police said on Wednesday. The man was a member of the army who had been demobilized and the woman was a prostitute, police said. The grenade’s ring was found in the hotel room in the town of Dire Dawa after the blast on Tuesday night. “There are indications that the bomb that killed a man and a woman occupying a room at Segon Hotel in Dire Dawa may have gone off accidentally,” Siad Ahmed, the head of information at the Dire Dawa police told Reuters by telephone.
