Pakistan’s armed forces are “200%” behind President Pervez Musharraf in the war against the Taleban and al-Qaeda, according to a senior US envoy. US Deputy Secretary of State Richard Armitage was speaking after talks in Islamabad with General Musharraf, whose forces launched a major raid to capture al-Qaeda suspects in the tribal belt bordering Afghanistan five days ago. Mr Armitage said he was extremely pleased by his meeting with General Musharraf, which also focused on the rivalry with India over Kashmir and possible Pakistani troop deployments in Iraq.
