Sri Lanka’s Tamil Tiger rebels have handed 50 child soldiers over to a UN-backed rehabilitation programme. The former fighters, all younger than 18, will be taken to a transit home in the rebel-held town of Kilinochchi. There they will be cared for by local and foreign charities before a planned reunification with their families. The Tigers have been repeatedly criticised for using child soldiers in their separatist war. Full Story
