The second suspect to be tried in Germany on charges of being part of the al-Qaida cell that helped carry out the Sept. 11 attacks has shown no worries about his future freedom during the last month of testimony, and for good reason. More than two years after the attacks, witnesses’ memories are not as sharp and emotions are not as strong, making the task of proving that the Hamburg group formed an al-Qaida terror cell more difficult.
