The province of Aceh, where the United Nations estimates that 100,000 people have been displaced as a result of fighting there, is without any foreign aid workers because Indonesia has refused to give them permits, say officials with the United Nations and other organizations. A World Health Organization worker, who left Aceh on Friday because his permit was about to expire, was the last international aid worker in the province, United Nations officials said. The Indonesian government has justified the virtual ban by saying that foreigners are in danger of being kidnapped by the separatist rebels of the Free Aceh Movement. Full Story
