Tourists Travelling with two Britons kidnapped in Colombia described yesterday how the rebels selected the fittest before marching them at gunpoint into the jungle. Matthew Scott, 19, from London and Mark Henderson, 31, from Lincoln, were among a group of eight tourists seized during a trek through mountainous forest to Cuidad Perdida (the Lost City) in northern Colombia. The Britons, four Israelis, a German and a Spaniard were kidnapped at dawn as they slept in wooden cabins near the archaeological site in the Sierra Nevada, 465 miles north of the capital, Bogota. They were two days into a six-day trek. The abductors struck in an area that is considered unsafe because of the presence of guerrilla rebels from the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (Farc).
