International cooperation is vital if the fight against terrorism begun after the September 11, 2001, attacks in the United States is to be successful, United Nations Secretary-General Kofi Annan said on Thursday. Speaking to Reuters Television, Annan said last month’s bombing of the U.N. office in Baghdad and Wednesday’s fatal knifing in Stockholm of Swedish Foreign Minister Anna Lindh showed that terrorism was not defeated. “Obviously we will remember those who died on September 11.
