Kenyan police raided a house Monday in the port of Mombasa where suspected terrorists are thought to have lived, seizing weapons and visa stamps for several countries, the national security minister said. Acting on a tip, police moved in on the house, finding evidence that “those living there were planning … acts of terrorism,” Christopher Murungaru said in a statement. He did not say where the residents were at the time or whether any were arrested. Among the items found were AK-47 assault rifles, a light anti-tank weapon, a grenade, weapons training literature and the visa stamps, he said. Hours earlier, he said, police found a suspicious object at a popular tourist resort north of Mombasa on the Indian Ocean and were working to determine whether it was a bomb. Full Story
